Employment

The businesses in Alberta's Industrial Heartland provide endless opportunities for employment. Approximately 7,000 people currently work in the Heartland for companies that range in size from several employees to several hundred employees. Career options vary greatly, and encompass everything from tradespeople to environment to human resources to engineering.

tradesmen_workingWith the combination of future economic growth, an estimated 250,000 people retiring from Alberta's labour market in the next decade, and millions of dollars of projects planned in the coming years, there will be no shortage of employment opportunities in the province. For a forecast of the labour demand and supply over the next decade, visit the Construction Sector Council's website. Their forecast data now extends to 2020, and provides labour forecasts for more than 30 skilled construction trades, markets for trades and occupations, retirement patterns in construction trades, and potential for labour mobility.

In Alberta's Industrial Heartland, there are a variety of ongoing projects as well as continuing maintenance on existing facilities. For more information on obtaining employment or to view current job openings with any of the companies, visit the individual company websites.

*NOTE: Alberta's Industrial Heartland Association does not facilitate employment searches or accept resumes on behalf of the companies in the Heartland.
