Permits are essential for all construction and land development projects. The permits required depend on the nature and scope of the proposed project. Each municipality is responsible for issuing and reviewing permits for building, development and other related activities to ensure they comply with current regulations and legislation. In addition to municipal permits, provincial and federal regulations must be adhered to via the permitting process.

Potential applicants are encouraged to have a pre-application meeting with the local municipal planning department to discuss information and processing requirements.
