Year in Review: 2013
Looking back throughout 2013, the economy, environment, election, and more created quite the dynamic year. Alberta’s Industrial Heartland Association embraced the activity and is proud to highlight the year’s significant achievements.
Most notably, the Association celebrated our 15th anniversary. The partnership of municipalities was formalized back in 1998, creating a model of cooperation that continues to be unique and beneficial. On behalf of the Board of Directors, it was our privilege to acknowledge our anniversary with many individuals and organizations that play a key role together in the Heartland region’s growth and progress.
A review of the past year also clearly shows our values and priorities. We actively promoted value adding within Alberta, including the launch of the Alberta Plus campaign. Our planning efforts highlight the region’s transportation network and the need to ensure appropriate infrastructure for industry and the community. We took part in others’ milestone celebrations including the Sturgeon Refinery’s groundbreaking, 10th anniversary of the Community Notification Program run by NRCAER, and the approval of the Heartland’s Energy Mapping Project. Finally, we played host to a significant number of interested investors who share our belief in the incredible potential of the Heartland region.
Thank you to all those involved in our past successes. We look forward to 2014 and beyond with much optimism.
